Meet The Team
PHYSIOTHERAPIST / OWNER
Scott Mackay is the principal physiotherapist and founder of Proactive Physio – Brisbane’s first integrated physiotherapy and Pilates studio. As one of Queensland’s leading physiotherapy practitioners, Scott has a loyal base of long-term clients.
Scott first studied Human Movements before completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. He is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Sports Physiotherapy and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Group of Australia.
In 2007, Scott received his Clinical Pilates Instructor qualification and began conducting in-demand classes at Proactive Physio.
With a special interest in sports and spinal injuries, Scott has worked as a
consultant physiotherapist to the Australian Air Force and the Queensland
Reds rugby union team.
Scott has also worked with club AFL and rugby union teams in Queensland, as well as the National Defence Force Basketball squad.
PHYSIOTHERAPIST / PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Senior physiotherapist Matt is the longest-serving member of Proactive Physio. He joined the team in 2004 and continues to uphold the proactive approach, philosophy and commitment the studio is known for.
Matt completed a Masters of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University. He is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Sports Physiotherapy and Musculoskeletal Group of Australia.
With a strong background in exercise prescription and the treatment of sports injuries, Matt has worked with Queensland Cup rugby league and rugby union teams in addition to a number of state elite and sub-elite athletes.
With 20+ years of experience in the fitness industry, Kelly O’Grady is now primarily focused on Pilates instruction. Her passion for Pilates was ignited in 2011 through Scott Mackay and Matt Jenner when she became an enthusiastic regular at Proactive Physio’s Pilates sessions.
Kelly has completed Certificates 3 and 4 in Fitness and Progressive Pilates Accreditation, and her ongoing education and training in the fitness industry continues. She already holds a Bachelor Degree in Education and a Masters in Guidance Counselling.
As a Pilates instructor, Kelly strives to ensure that every participant in her classes reaches their personal goals. She ensures their needs are met through fun, interesting and worthwhile classes.
PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT & PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Physiotherapy Assistant and Pilates Instructor Curtley joined the team at Proactive Physio in 2016 after several years serving in the Australian Defence Force. While in the ADF, Curtley represented the Australian Army in rugby union.
Curtley is currently completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (HONS) at the University of Queensland. He has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy and balance/functional mobility, having already completed his Australian Physiotherapy Association level 1 Pilates courses.
