The Power of Positivity!November 12, 2013
Jo Canerio from Curtain Uni gave a great presentation on the importance of Cognitive Therapy in Low back pain at my recent Physio conference in Melbourne.
In my words Cognitive Therapy is basically good education from your Physio so you understand what is wrong and how to manage it. I believe at Proactive we do this well.
In addition a positive mental attitude can improve your health, enhance your relationships, increase your chances of success, and add years to your life.
Jo quoted some scary stats about seeing a MRI of a disc bulge. Patients who see a disc bulge on MRI are 30% more likely to report pain one year down the track than those who are not told.
It just goes to show how important it is once you are diagnosed with a disc bulge you receive education about the direction the bulge is an how you can best manage it in the acute stage.
With the right advice and education you can then strengthen up with a graduated program so that in 6 months you have returned to normal function and doing whatever activities you love. :-)
Come into Proactive so we can educate you on how to manage a disc bulge in the acute phase and graduate your strengthening.
A bulged disc on MRI is not a life sentence… it’s the beginning of a journey to return to living life to the fullest!
